I previously introduced a small effervescent rocket made of a sports cap beverage bottle. After sending it, I also tried it myself, but I don’t know if it is because the lid of the beverage bottle I used is loose. The test effect is always No, effervescent tablets are hard to push the bottle to fly…
Today, I will introduce another method of effervescent rocket. I tried this and found that the effect is still quite good, and it is easier to succeed. Because the “rocket” is relatively small, it is relatively easy to clean up.
The first is my test results:
This time the “Rocket” was made using a plastic round tube-shaped chocolate bean candy box (as shown in the picture below, which is sold in supermarkets. I think other brands should be as long as they are about the same size and shape). The first step is to cut off the joint of the box lid to separate the lid and the round tube.
Next, prepare effervescent tablets. In order to make the reaction happen faster, I will use pliers to clamp the effervescent tablet into several small pieces (the effervescent tablet is very hard, it is not easy to break it by hand). Next, stick a piece of double-sided tape on the inside of the cut sugar box cover, and paste the effervescent pieces on it. Make sure that the effervescent tablet is fixed on the lid.
Next, add a small amount of water to the round tube sugar box (a tablespoon is almost enough). Close the lid with the effervescent tablet firmly. At this time, the water and the effervescent tablet are not in contact, so the reaction does not start and can be prepared with ease.
Next, quickly turn the sugar box upside down and wait one meter back. It won’t take long to see the generated CO2 propel the “rocket” into the sky~
To increase the fun, you can also make some simple decorations for the sugar box:
There is a more traditional version of this experiment that is made with a film box, but now the average person probably cannot find a film box at home… so sugar boxes should be considered the most convenient option. The “little rocket” is not very powerful (it is probably less than half a meter high when flying), you can play with children, and you can wear goggles for insurance.
